2017 Summer Camp Information

Pyramid Stables would like to introduce our Summer Camp programs.
For 2017 we are offering five 3-day camps and two 3-day sleepover camps.

Pyramid Stables offers camps for every rider level and age – from beginner to advanced.  In addition to your riding lesson on a safe, well trained school horse or your own horse, you will learn about horse care and take part in fun activities such as horse related games or crafts or perhaps go on a trail ride!

To register for camp download and complete the  2017 summer camp overview and reg form and send or deliver it with your payment.

Riders need to bring:

  • their own lunches and snacks (for day camp only – fridge and microwave available)
  • sunscreen, hat and clothing appropriate to the weather
  • gloves
  • Riders need to have boots with a heel about ½” to 1”.  We do have some but you will need to come ahead of time to ensure that we have your size.
  • Riders will be required to wear ASTM/SEI approved riding helmets.  Once again, we have some but you will want to ensure that we have your size ahead of time.

Camps start at 10:00 am and include:

  • 1 ½ hr riding lesson, plus
  • 1 ½ hr stable management session, plus
  • group activities, horsey crafts or games
  • LOTS OF FUN!!

2017 Summer Riding Camp Schedule

1.   July 5th – 7th, Wed – Fri, 10:00 – 3:00 ~ Intermediate Jumping Sleepover
$ 330 + GST
Designed for the intermediate jumping rider wanting to improve their skills. Over three days we will cover  riding on the flat, jumping single fences and simple gymnastics, working up to small courses. Stable management and games and lots of fun packed into 3 days.  Rider Prep 3 & 4.

2.  July 10th – 12th, Mon – Wed, 10:00 – 2:00 ~ Beginner/Novice Rider Camp
$ 220 + GST

Perfect for the 1st time rider or a rider with a little experience at any age. Learn proper riding skills on safe well-mannered horses and ponies and have fun.

3.  July 19th – 21st, Wed – Fri,  10:00– 3:00 ~ Beginner Jumper Camp & Rider Prep 1 & 2
$ 230 + GST
We will cover riding on the flat, as well as over fences and stable management.

4.  July 31st – Aug 2nd, Mon – Wed, 10:00 – 2:00 ~ Beginner/Novice Rider Camp               $ 220 + GST
Perfect for the 1st time rider or a rider with a little experience of any age. Learn proper riding skills on safe well-mannered horses and ponies and have fun.

5.  Aug 7th – 9th, Mon – Wed,  10:00 – 2:00 ~ Beginner/Novice Riding Camp    $ 220 + GST
Perfect for the rider with some experience looking to improve their skills. We will cover riding on the flat, as well as stable management.

6.   Aug 14th – 16th, Mon – Wed,  10:00 – 3:00 ~ Advanced Sleepover Camp      $ 330 + GST
Designed for the competitive jumping rider looking to advance their skills. Over 3 days we will cover more advanced flat work, more  advanced work on jumping related skills and also more advanced work on understanding courses, lines and medals. As well there will be more of a focus on show prep and 1st aid in stable management. Rider Prep 5 & 6

7.  Aug 23rd – 25th, Wed – Fri, 10:00 – 2:00 ~ Beginner/Novice Rider Camp       $ 220 + GST
Perfect for the 1st time rider or a rider with a little experience at any age. Learn proper riding skills on safe well-mannered horses and ponies and have fun.

Payment needs to be received in advance (cash or cheque) and camps will be filled on a first paid first served basis.  Camps fill up quickly so sign up now!!

Any of our Riding camps can be used to challenge the HCBC Equine Canada Rider Levels. Please contact us for more info and see below for a description on the E.C.R.L program.

Equine Canada Rider Levels 1 – 8

Rider Levels are an exciting way to measure your riding progress as well as your horse knowledge.  The Rider Certification program is a national program with national standards and will reward your continued quest for learning with Certificates of Achievement issued by Horse Council British Columbia (HCBC).  In addition, riders can receive high school credits for rider levels as they progress through the levels.  For more information see www.hcbc.ca.
